Chapter 3 Huts on the Beach

Lord of the Flies
Chapter 3 – Huts on the Beach

“Hunting the fat one”

Perspective: Jack

Why is it important/not important to have shelter for the little ones?

It doesn't matter if we have shelter for the little ones. As long as I have my knife, all of us will be safe. Food shortage might be a problem if the fat kid keeps eating. Although the huts will keep me from being tendril for the night and dry if it rains. No use for me if I am cold all night.

What are the various jobs assigned to the boys?

Well I am the leader of the hunting group, also the choir. Which next time that pig will contrite to me. Then Ralph is the leader of everyone else which I think is inscrutable. The rest of the boys help Ralph. Which I think Ralph is too rapt to be leader.

Why aren’t they carried out?

The jobs are not being followed through because these kids have compulsions to run away and not work.

What do you feel is the most important task for survival? Explain.

The most important part of survival, no the only important part is to hunt. Without food we will die and who will be crying to Jack all the little kids around. Without meat there will be some serious deaths coming our way.

Describe Simon. (If you are Simon, describe yourself)

Simon is skinny, tanned from the sunburn he got, has black hair, and has a pointy chin. He is wearing shorts, no shoes, and he is short.

What do you think will happen on this island if you don’t get rescued soon?

Well if I don't get the beastie everyone will get scared about it and maybe he will take another one. Maybe this time Ralph will get taken away. But of course I am here so I will take care of everything and everything will move smoothly.

Why don’t you get along with Ralph (in this chapter)?
Ralph is crazy he thinks that hunting is least important right now. But if we don't have meat we might as well die on this island.
